About Coinifo

Ask three price sites what a coin costs and you will often get three answers. Usually they differ by a fraction of a percent; sometimes one is minutes out of date or reading a market that has stopped trading.

How the price is calculated

Coinifo reads the big data providers and the exchanges themselves, and lines their prices up coin by coin. A ticker match alone is never enough: two sources count as the same coin only if their prices also agree. An exchange market is used only if it traded at least $25,000 in the last day and sits within 10% of the providers' price. USDT and USDC markets are converted at the live price of that stablecoin.

The price shown is the median of every source that passed, so a single bad number cannot drag it around. Next to it you see how many sources agree and how far apart they are. Exchange prices refresh every 30 seconds, data providers every two to fifteen minutes.
